Total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 60,154 while the country’s death toll has reached 1,239. There were 1,157 more cases registered on Wednesday along with 18 more fatalities.
These lower numbers being reported is not an improvement with the coronavirus situation in the country but rather the negligence of the government as lower number of tests are being carried out since Eid Holidays and Punjab did not bother to provide a proper update for 27 May 2020 and it has been more than 24 hours since their last update.
Sindh reported six more fatalities according to Government Spokesperson Senator Murtaza Wahab in his coronavirus update on Twitter. This brings the total provincial death toll to 380.
Khyber Pakthunkwa Health Department reported nine more fatalities in the province according to their daily coronavirus update. This brings provincial death toll to 425.
Islamabad reported one more fatality bringing the total deaths in the capital territory to 18 while Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported two fatalities bringing the total deaths there to four according to the Coronavirus Dashboard by Government of Pakistan at covid.gov.pk/stats/pakistan.
There were no fatalities reported in Balochistan according to the Provincial Health Department. However, 80 more cases were reported in the province.
There have been no new updates issued from Punjab since last night.
