The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a list shedding light on female terrorists involved in various unlawful activities in the province since 2014.
The list detailed the engagement of 30 females in acts of terrorism, 13 in kidnapping, two in extortion, and three each in targeted killing and terror financing.
CTD DIG Imran Shahid pointed out the challenges faced by intelligence and law enforcement agencies in apprehending these female terrorists. He mentioned cultural and traditional values as obstacles, along with the lack of sources linked to female criminals or terrorists.
In efforts to address this issue, cases have been registered against these female terrorists in different police stations, with some cases already in progress in various courts.
The document highlighted that cases of terrorism were registered against 18 females in different police stations of Peshawar. Additionally, it noted that nine females had been acquitted in these cases, while proceedings for others were still underway in court.
