The police has arrested four Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) retailers over corruption charges on Monday. According to the details, these retailers were taking bribe money from some women beneficiaries while disbursing payments.
Deputy Director BISO, Safdar Mehmood, said that some retailers were taking Rs. 200 bribe from woman beneficiaries while disbursing payments under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
The BISP team inspected the matter alongside police and raids were conducted and arrested four retailers, including Umer Farooq, from Sillanwali, Sajjad Toufail from Muslim Bazaar, Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi from Istaqlalabad, and Zafar Iqbal from 42-NB Sargodha.
As a result, the BISP team has sealed the ID numbers while further investigation was underway.
