Islamabad Issues Advisory for 8th Muharram Procession

District Administration of Islamabad has issued an advisory for 8th Muharram procession, which will take place on 27 July 2023).

Islamabad Issues Advisory for 8th Muharram Procession

According to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, the procession for 8th Muharram (27 July 2023) will be held after Zohar prayer and conclude at Maghrib prayer.

The procession will start from Jamia Al Murtaza Rohtas Road G-9/4 and travel through Khyber Chowk via Service Road, RDFC Chowk outside Service Road to Imam Bargah Jamia Al Sadiq, and G-9/2.

This route includes many Government and Private organizations, therefore, this advisory has been issued to app public and private offices on the route to follow security SOPs during the procession by taking following steps to avoid any inconvenience and untoward incident:

  • Cooperation with Civil Administration, Police, and Law Enforcement Agencies LEAs.
  • Avoid unnecessary movement on the route of procession.
  • Vacation of parking areas.
  • Use alternate route during procession time.

It is pertinent to mention that following advisory is for public and government offices only.
