The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a detailed Traffic Plan for 25 May 2022 (Saturday) to facilitate the public ahead of the PTI Power Show at Islamabad’s Parade Ground to protest the wave of inflation in the country after the coalition government raised prices of petroleum products and electricity.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan had announced a Power Show in Islamabad’s Parade Ground on 2 July 2022. Meanwhile, the Staff Duties Directorate at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi on Friday has also permitted PTI to organize said public gathering at Parade Ground in Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad Traffic Police has also issued a detailed Parking Plan for 2 July 2022 alongside the Traffic Plan in order to facilitate protesters joining the PTI Power Show at Parade Ground in Islamabad. The complete details (both in English and Urdu) are provided below.
Islamabad Traffic Plan – 2 July 2022
According to the Islamabad Traffic Plan, the commuters going from Islamabad to Rawalpindi from Dhokri Chowk and Rawal Dam Chowk will use Murree Road. Meanwhile, the commuters going towards Rawalpindi from Sector G-6, G-7, and F-8 will using ADBP turn will go right towards Sector G-8 and 9th Avenue.
Furthermore, the traffic coming from Murree Road, IJP Road will use Murree Road towards Rawal Dam Chowk for their commute. Moreover, the commuters coming from Expressway will use Faizabad towards Murree Road and Rawal Dam Chowk.
Traffic coming from Sector I-8 will use I-8 Signal IJP Road.
Islamabad Parking Plan – 2 July 2022
According to the Islamabad Traffic Police, PTI supporters will use the following parking plan if they wish to join the Protest / Power Show at Parade Ground in Islamabad
Parking Plan 1
The protestors coming from Peshawar will use Srinagar Highway towards Zero Point and turn left to park their cars in the parking area in front of Parade Ground.
Parking Plan 2
PTI supporters coming from Lahore will use Expressway towards Faizabad, Garden Flyover and make a U-Turn to park their cars in designated parking at Parade Ground.
Parking Plan 3
Protesters coming from Bhara Kahu will use Murree Road, Rawal Dam, Faizabad Flyover and make U-Turn from Garden Flyover to park their vehicles in designated parking at Parade Ground.
Entry 1 – Bus Parking
Buses will use Garden Flyover, cross Faisal Avenue and use Entry 1 towards left to enter and park their buses in the designated parking area.
Entry 2 – Cars and Motorcycles
Cars and motorcycles will use Garden Flyover, cross Faisal Avenue and use Entry 2 towards left to enter and park their vehicles in the designated parking areas.
