One Student Killed, 5 Injured in Clash Outside NUML Islamabad

One student identified as Abdul Haq, a BBA student, was killed while five others were injured outside National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad after a fight between two student groups belonging to different ethnic councils,

According to the details, there was a heated exchange between the students belonging to the Pashtun and Saraiki Councils on Wednesday resulting a clash between the two sides on Thursday night outside NUML Islamabad, which resulted in the death of Abdul Haq and injured five other students.

Abdul Haq, who was a Pashtun student, was reportedly attacked with a dagger and succumbed to his wound due to excessive bleeding. The dead body was transferred to PIMS Hospital for autopsy along with five injured identified as Asghar, Rasheed, Khyber Khan, and Ihtesham-ul-Haq, who are being treated at the medical facility. However, the exact reason behind the clash is still not known..

Islamabad IG Qazi Jameelur Rehman took notice of the incident and has ordered the Operations SSP to arrest all suspects responsible for the incident that claimed the life of one student and several olice teams have been constituted in the process.

Meanwhile, students belonging tot he Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba also held a press conference outside the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and and asked to place a ban on ethnic councils entirely, which has been the trending topic on social media.

Social media has been trending with the incident while many have shared videos and pictures of the chaos at NUML University Islamabad while others are demanding action to be taken against those responsible for the death of Pashtun student Abdul Haq.
