According to a series of tweets by the president, special courts will be set up across the country to deal with rape cases and give a final verdict within four months.

Furthermore, anti-rape crisis cells will be setup by the prime minister to conduct medico-legal examination of the rape victim within six hours of the incident being reported.

Moreover, a national level registry of rapists will be setup with the help of NADRA.

The tweet also mentions that the Anti-Rape Ordinance 2020 will prohibit the identification of the rape victims, making it a punishable offence.

However, the tweets by President does not mention the exact punishments for rapists.

Last month, prime minister Imran Khan approved, in principle, the chemical castration of rapists during a cabinet meeting and stressed on the importance of such ordinance to ensure a safer environment for women and children.
