Sidhu arrived in Lahore through Wagah border on the invitation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan. He will now travel to Islamabad for the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for August 18. Navjot Singh Sidhu will meet the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief today night.

Talking to the journalist, Sidhu admired the transformation in Pakistan brought about by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

“I have come to Pakistan on my friend’s invitation. These are very special moments,” he said. “Hindustan jeevey, Pakistan jeevey (Long Live India, Long Live Pakistan)!” he cheered.

The former cricketer termed that the players and artists removed the distances between the countries. “I have come here bearing the message of love, and prayers for Pakistanis,” he added.

Earlier August 13, Sidhu informed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan that he has been issued Pakistani visa to attend Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony on his telephonic conversation.

The former Indian cricketer termed that he trust every single word of Imran Khan. He hoped that Imran Khan being as prime minister of Pakistan will be aimed at normalizing ties between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Imran khan, the PM designate and cricketer-turned-politician, is set to take oath of the prime minister’s office on August 18. He invited Indian cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Sidhu for the swearing-in ceremony.

The former Indian captain Kapil Dev said he will not be attending the oath-taking ceremony, citing ‘personal reasons’.

Dev was one of the three cricketers from India invited to attend the leader’s swearing-in ceremony, along with Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar.

Gavaskar also declined Imran’s invite due to his commentary commitments for the ongoing Test series between England and India.
