Sindh Bans Pillion Riding on 12 Rabi-ul-Awal

The Government of Sindh has banned pillion riding across the province on 19th October 2021 (12 Rabi-ul-Awal) to maintain security. The decision has been taken on the request of Pakistan Rangers, who reported numerous threat alerts of disruption of law and order during various events being held on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, there will be a complete ban of Pillion Riding in Sindh on 19th October 2021 (12 Rabi-ul-Awal, 1443 Hijri) in order to maintain security across the province.

However, there will be certain exceptions to the restrictions, including women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, personnel of law enforcement agencies / security agencies in uniform, employees of the essential services and journalists subject to showing their press card / service card.

Furthermore, the SHOs of the concerned Police Stations are hereby authorized to register complaints as well as take further necessary action against the violators under the relevant provisions of law.
