In the viral video, Usman Mirza is seen entering the room with his accomplices, Atta-ur-Rehman, Mudaris Butt and Farhan, who have also been arrested by Islamabad Police.
The couple was kept in custody at gunpoint and the suspect also forced the man and woman to strip naked as well. The suspect allegedly raped the woman and used the video to blackmail the couple for the past few months.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Golra Police Station at an apartment building in sector E-11/2.
Netizens have been outraged and demanding law enforcement to take immediate action against Usman Mirza after the viral video began circulating on social media. The hashtag #ArrestUsmanMirza has been trending on Twitter all day.
Instant justice and speedy trial of heinous offence is the only solution to root out violence against women. #ArrestUsmanMirza & all those who shamelessly witnessed the crime. Plz do not share the video & picture of the victims!
We live in a country where women are abused & silenced. Where the leadership raises its voice to sideline domestic violence bills. Where abusers can get away with crimes because they are backed by a state that always tells them it was the woman’s fault.#ArrestUsmanMirza
imagine having to beg your law enforcement to punish sexual assault by having to trend a hashtag every time so they’ll notice. If you live in Pakistan, you don’t have to imagine. #ArrestUsmanMirza
