KARACHI: At least 23 people have lost their lives due to yesterday’s heavy rainfall and The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rains in Karachi today (Friday).

According to the PMD, Several areas in Karachi are expected to recieve heavy downpour today as the current monsoon system is still present in Sindh and Balochistan region.

At least 23 people have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in Karachi, several people have been injured and fewer are missing has not returned home after the rain.

Pakistan Navy, Pak Army and Rangers are on ground working in rescue and relief operations with provincial government.

Sindh Government declares 28 August 2020 as a Public Holiday

after the heavy rainfall on 27 August which claimed 23 lives and the entire city is disconnected from rest of Pakistan, The Government of Sindh declared a public holiday today (28 August 2020).

Electricity not restored yet

K Electric has not restored the electricity in several areas after the rain as once again today PMD forecasts rain in karachi, it is expected that electricity will not be restored until the rainwater is not being cleared from areas.
