The highly anticipated cricket tournament – PSL 9 – commenced today at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium with an electrifying clash between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United. In a tournament’s first encounter, Islamabad United was able to defeat Lahore Qalandars by 8-wickets with 10 balls to spare.
Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first, which allowed Lahore Qalandars to set a reasonable target of 196 runs, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan and Rassie van der Dussen, who both scored 57 and 71 runs, respectively. Additionally, Abdullah Shafique also managed to add 28 runs, while Fakhar Zaman and David Wiese were dismissed early with just 13 and 14 runs, respectively.
in the second innings, Islamabad United were off to a rough start as they lost an early Wicket with Colin Munro being dismissed for only 5 runs. However, Alex Hales still managed to secure 36 runs off 28 balls, while Shadab Khan and Salman Ali Agha guided the team to victory as they both made 74 and 64 runs, respectively.
