Solar panel prices in Lahore have dropped significantly, making them more affordable. According to reports, systems ranging from 7 to 15 kilowatts (kW) are now Rs. 200,000 cheaper. For example, a 7-kilowatt system costs Rs. 825,000, down by Rs. 100,000.
Meanwhile, a 10-kilowatt (kW) system now sells for Rs. 1.125 million. Furthermore, the prices for larger systems have also fallen, with a 12-kilowatt (kW) system now at Rs. 1.4 million and a 15-kilowatt (kW) system at Rs. 1.6 million after a reduction of Rs. 200,000 each.
This price drop for solar panels in the Lahore market was unexpected considering the summer season is right around the corner when prices typically rise. Just last month, solar panels saw significant price hikes, ranging from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 300,000, due to increased demand.
For instance, a 7-kilowatt system exceeded Rs. 920,000, and a 10-kilowatt system rose from Rs. 11 lac to Rs. 12.5 lac. Similarly, a 12-kilowatt system reached Rs. 16 lac, and a 15-kilowatt system was priced at Rs. 18 lac.
These fluctuations in prices highlight the dynamic nature of the solar panel market, which is influenced by seasonal demand. Despite recent increases, the current reduction brings relief to consumers seeking solar energy solutions.
