Vivo recently introduced the V40 SE 5G, a mid-range smartphone, alongside its more expensive foldable models, the X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. The V40 SE aims at the mid-range market segment but still offers impressive features.
Although Vivo hasn’t disclosed the official price yet, the phone is currently available in Austria and Europe. It’s set to be the official smartphone for Euro 2024.
The V40 SE 5G boasts a sizable 6.67-inch Ultra Vision AMOLED Display with a high resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and exceptional brightness up to 1200 nits, reaching 1800 nits for HDR content. This ensures clear visibility even in bright outdoor environments. The display covers the DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrant colors. The phone measures 158.3 x 73.1 x 7.79 mm and weighs 185.5g.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, the V40 SE 5G is equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. It runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
The phone features a triple-camera setup on the back, including a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP auxiliary sensor. For selfies, there’s a 16MP front-facing camera.
With a 5000mAh battery, the V40 SE supports 44W fast charging, capable of charging up to 50% in approximately 24.5 minutes. It also includes Smart Charging Engine 2.0 and Overnight Charging Protection for enhanced battery life and safety.
Available in Crystal Black with a composite plastic back and Leather Purple with a vegan leather back, both variants offer an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
