Saudi Arabia announces Eid Ul Fitr on 24 May 2020.

RIYADH: As the month of Ramazan comes to a close, Saudi Arabia has announced Eid Ul Fitr to begin from 24 May 2020 while many other countries have also announced official dates marking the end of Ramazan according to Gulf News.

Others including Indonesia, Turkey, Australia and even Kerala, India have all announced that Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated on 24 May 2020, Sunday.

This Eid will be quite different as many Muslims around the world are confined to their homes following the outbreak of coronavirus and lockdown in place around the world.

Although many places have now relaxed lockdown measures, people are still advised to follow precautions and many will be staying home to be safe.

Pakistan Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet on 23 May 2020 for Shawal Moon Sighting

Pakistan is yet to announce the official date for Eid Ul Fitr after the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee that will take place on 23 May 2020 under Chairman Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman for the Shawal moon sighting.

At the same time, meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held at their respective headquarters.

According to the Institute of Space Technolog, Islamabad, moon sighting is possible with the naked eye on 23 May 2020 whereas it would be possible to sight the moon with a telescope.

Eid Ul Fitr

Government has said that Eid Prayers will be held in mosques following the same standard operating procedures (SOPs) and precautions which were being observed for Taraweeh Prayers.
