She was already dead when the paramedics arrived at the scene. Paramedics had rushed to the neighborhood of the Panama City El Cangrejo as soon as they received the alarm after 10 am local time yesterday, but it was already too late.
The construction workers from the nearby tower block yelled at her to get down from the railing as she was seen sitting on the railing, but strong winds blowing at the time could have prevented her from hearing the warning.
The police is of the view that the gust of strong wind may have knocked her off balance.
Panama Fire Service has warned the people on twitter stating: ‘Don’t risk your life for a selfie. It’s more important to lose a minute in life than your life in a minute.’
A Portuguese friend wrote on Instagram: ‘This woman was a very good friend of mine, a mother of two children. She was a teacher and she was in Panama to work in her chosen profession.
