LONDON: Animal bleed for human greed – A campaign by animal rights activist group “Animal Rebellion” turned Trafalgar Square fountains blood-red using nontoxic dye in central London.

Animal bleed for human greed

The campaigners were seen holding play cards which read ” Animal Bleed For Human Greed”, Government has Blood on Their Hands”, “Transition to Plant Based Food System”, “Another World is Possible-A world Free of All Oppression”.

According to Animal Rebellion, the actual cause for the COVID-19 pandemic crisis is animal agriculture. The group demands the end of animal farming and transitioning to a plant-based food system. They believe this would prevent future pandemics.

“People Over Profit” – The UK Government must protect the people, not support climate-destructive and exploitative industries.

Beautiful symbolic nonviolent actions that took part across the world yesterday. Coverage in international news such as the BBC and New York Times. Safe & respectful direct action to raise the alarm about the impact of animal farming.⠀ ⠀ The government needs to put an end to animal agriculture to prevent future pandemics and to help mitigate the worst effects of climate breakdown. ⠀ ⠀ The government has blood on their hands and are responsible for the suffering and deaths of trillions of animals used for food every year.⠀ ⠀ We demand the government to make bold changes, support industries to transition to sustainable industries, a plant based food system, and support the people, planet and animals. ⠀ ⠀ Photos in order from the following Animal Rebellion groups:⠀ ⠀ Cologne (GER) @animalrebellion_koeln ⠀ Toronto (CAN) @animalrebellion.to⠀ Portugal @animalrebellionportugal ⠀ Perth (AUS)⠀ Finland @elainkapina⠀ South Africa @animalrebellion.sa ⠀ Bristol (UK)@axrbristol ⠀ Hungary ⠀ Adelaide (AU) @animalrebellionadelaide ⠀ ⠀ *more photos from the global action coming soon•⠀ ⠀ This is only the beginning! ⠀ ⠀ September 1st is the start of the #Rebellion in the UK. ⠀ Do you want to play a part in building a massive and impactful rebellion? The COVID-19 outbreak is feared to have been originated from the wet market in Wuhan, China. The pandemic was identified in the end of 2019 and till now it has gripped the world and has infected more than thirteen million people across the world. A total of 576,524 people have died due to COVID-19.

Kieran Blyth, a representative for the group, said: “These unsatisfactory and dangerous measures will only increase the risk of future pandemics. The government is playing with the potential of tens of thousands more deaths.”

Stephanie Zupan, an Animal Rebellion representative, said: “The Government must now begin a transition towards a plant-based food system, or risk future zoonotic pandemics of catastrophic proportions.
