UAE to suspend all flights within the next 48 hours

DUBAI: The Civil Aviation Authority and The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management have decided to suspend all outbound and inbound passenger flights and transits of airline passengers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for two weeks as part of precautionary measures to curb Coronavirus (COVID19).

The decision will take effect in 48 hours, In a statement by CAA said

cargo and emergency evacuation flights would be exempt, taking into consideration all the precautionary measures adopted as per the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

“Additional examination and isolation arrangements will be taken later should flights resume in order to ensure the safety of passengers, air crews, and airport personnel and their protection from infection risks,” said the statement.

In Addition, UAE has ordered the closure of all malls, shopping centers, and commercial centers in 48 hours to slow the spread of coronavirus. Markets will also be shut, with some exceptions.
