Islamabad Announces Winter Timings for Schools and Colleges

In response to the drop in temperature, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has introduced new winter timings for schools and colleges in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad.

Islamabad Announces Winter Timings for Schools and Colleges

Starting from December 1, 2023, until January 31, 2024, all schools and colleges across Islamabad will adhere to these winter timings.

For Single-Shift Schools

According to the official notification, single-shift schools will now be in session from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with an early closure at 12:30 pm on Fridays.

For Double-Shift Schools

Double-shift schools in Islamabad will conduct classes from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, with an early closure at 12:30 pm on Fridays. Additionally, the evening shift for these schools will run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and commence at 2:30 pm on Fridays.

College Timings

Simultaneously, postgraduate colleges will operate during either of two time slots: 8:30 am to 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm.

Moreover, it is anticipated that other provinces will adopt similar measures as winter takes hold across various regions of the country.
