Schools In Sindh to Remain Closed on Thursday Due to Heavy Rain

The public and private schools and colleges will remain closed across Sindh on Thursday (18 August 2022). According to the details, the Government of Sindh has announced a holiday for schools and colleges across the province due to the heavy monsoon spell.

The announcement was made by the Government of Sindh’s School Education and Literacy Department on Twitter. “Due to rain emergency, all government and private educational institutions [schools and colleges], under the jurisdiction of School Education Department, Government of Sindh shall remain closed on Thursday, 18th August 2022.” read the Tweet.

Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has also postponed the exams for Thursday (August 18) in light of the heavy rain in the metropolis. It is pertinent to mention that several areas of Karachi have reported heavy rain and Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain in the port city till August 19.

Therefore, the Government of Sindh has announced a holiday for schools and colleges across the province on Thursday (18 August 2022).
