DG ISPR takes foreign diplomates to Neelum Valley

Azad Jammu and Kashmir: DG ISPR takes foreign diplomates to Neelum Valley after the India COAS falsely claimed of destroying three alleged camps in AJK.

The foreign diplomates posted in Pakistan were taken to Nauseri, Shahkot and Jura sectors near the Line of Control (LoC), as well as the Nausada village. These areas have suffered lot of damage due to Indian Army attacks.

The visit was made to verify the claims of Indian Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat.

Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor briefed the team of foreign diplomates and the media.

The visiting team was also shown the remains artillery shells.

Earlier DGISPR had tweeted

Targeting innocent civilians by Indian Army is an attempt to justify their false claims of targeting alleged camps. Injured civilians evacuated to District hospitals. UNMOGIP as well as domestic & foreign media have open access to AJK, a liberty not available in IOJ&K.

Indian COAS’ statement claiming destruction of 3 alleged camps in AJK is disappointing as he holds a very responsible appointment. There are no camps let alone targeting those. Indian Embassy in Pakistan is welcome to take any foreign diplomat / media to ‘prove’ it on ground. The propensity of false claims by senior Indian military leadership especially since Pulwama incident is detrimental to peace in the region. Such false claims by Indian Army are being made to suit vested domestic interests. This is against professional military ethos

DG ISPR stated the team of foreign diplomates visited the affected areas and met the locals and shop owners. They all witnessed the damages inflicted on the houses and shops.

DGISPR said India is targeting innocent people.

FO spokes person Dr. Mohammad Faisal informed through tweet

The Indian side has not joined us in the visit to LoC neither have they provided coordinates of the alleged “launchpads”.

“Claims” by Indian Army Chief remain just that: “claims”

Indian High Commission was also invited to join the team of foreign diplomates but apparently did not join.

DG ISPR informed through tweet

What good Indian High Commission is which can’t stand with its Army Chief? Indian High Commission staff didn’t have the moral courage to accompany fellow diplomats in Pakistan to LOC. However, a group of foreign diplomats & media is on the way to LOC to see the truth on ground.

Indians have no grounds to support false claim made by their COAS. If they don’t want to go they have the option to share claimed targeted locations with our foreign office. We will take foreign diplomats & media tomorrow on those given locations. Let all see facts on ground
