Coronavirus cases in Pakistan – Update [26 May 2020]

The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 58,997 while the country’s death toll has reached 1,221. There were 1,381 new cases reported on Tuesday along with 25 more fatalities. The decline in the number of new cases is probably due to the lower amount of tests being conducted during Eid Holidays.

Sindh reported five more deaths according to the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. This brings the coronavirus death toll in the province to 374.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reported eight more fatalities according to their daily coronavirus update. This brings the provincial death toll to 416.

179 new cases confirmed in last 24 hours taking the total confirmed cases to 8,259 in KP. 8 more lives were lost (4 Swat, 2 Peshawar, 1 Malakand, 1 Bajaur) taking the total to 416. 49 new patients recovered taking the tally to 2,578 in KP. Active cases at 5,265. pic.twitter.com/JZHNsRHnhK

Punjab reported 10 more fatalities according to the coronavirus update issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) bringing the coronavirus death toll in Punjab to 362.

Balochistan did not report any new fatalities today. However, there were a few more cases registered according to the Daily Situation Report by the Balochistan Health Department.

Gilgit Baltistan reported one more falality according to the daily situation report issued by the GB Health Department bringing the regional death toll to nine.

There was also one more fatality reported in Islamabad according to the Government of Pakistan coronavirus dashboard at covid.gov.pk/stats/pakistan. This brings the death toll of the capital city to 17.
