SINDH: Khairpur Police have arrested Sarang Shar a teacher who was involved in the Thari Mirwah rape scandal. He is believed to have raped 132 students in different time periods.
Sindh Police confirmed the arrest of Sarang Shar through their twitter post and said he was arrested within 24 hours after FIR was registered.
Thari Mirwah rape scandal
Sarang Shar who happens to be retired Grade-17 teacher raped his innocent students on the pretext of giving them tuition. He has been carrying out these heinous activities for the past several years.
He was involved in sexually abusing his students and also performing group sex with the students. It is also believed he groomed his students for such sexual activities. he also made videos and later blackmailed his students.
The tutor Sarang Shar and his associates were allegedly involved in child pornography and a serial of rapes of many students over a periods of many years.
Sarang Shar had moved to Thari Mirwah ten to fifteen years back. He in actual was resident of Faizganj Tehsil of Khairpur Mirs. He fled his home as he was involved in the same activities there as well.

How the case was highlighted
Zahid Sammo who is father of one of the victim filled a complaint with the police. He told the police his son who is student of Grade 6 fell victim to the teacher and was sexually assaulted by him.
The father also said he also received the video and images of which emerged on social media showing the teacher Sarang Shar raping the student.
Why was he never arrested
According to reports the police had received many complaints before from the local residents but the police have not been able to take any action as the plaintiffs withdrew the cases themselves.
It is also believed that Sarang Shar was influential person and a well known figure in the area. He was chief executive of Government School Teacher’s Organization and also founded several social organizations in the past.
His son and brothers were aware of his activities
It is also said that his son and brothers were very well aware of his activities. His son who now claims to be out of town is not available to comment as he is not sure the person in the videos circulating is his father.
More videos circulating on social media
According to local residents there are several other videos circulating on social media showing Sarang Shar sexually abusing the children.
He had been forcing his students to perform sexual activities with each other and made videos. The teacher is also accused of blackmailing the students.
Where did it happen
The incident occurred in the Thari Mirwah Tehsil of Khairpur Mirs. A teacher is accused of raping 132 students in his tuition center on different time periods. This has been going on for years.
Even though many knew of his activities the devil was on loose.
