QUETTA – At least seven people were injured on Saturday when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Liaquat Bazaar.

According to police, unidentified men opened fire in Liaquat market area of the city which created stampede in the market, injuring seven people.

The injured were shifted to Civil hospital in the city. Three of the injured were stated in critical condition, while the other four are in a stable state, the hospital staff said.

Meanwhile, the police and other security forces have rushed to the site of the incident as panic has gripped the area.

Meanwhile, a shutter-down strike was observed by Ahle-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) today against Nawa Killi operation in Quetta. Security is on high alert in the city.

On Friday, two suspected militants were killed and four others wounded when security forces raided Nawa Killi area of Quetta.

The ASWJ staged a sit-in against the operation and called for a shutter-down strike.

In Quetta, all small and major markets located on Prince Road, Jinnah Road, Saryab Road, Nawa Killi, Zarghoon Road and Barori Road remained closed.
