As most universities are now holding online classes, many university students don’t have proper internet facilities as most a lot of them belong to rural areas and since hostels have closed, they have gone back home.

Internet facilities are not up to the mark in rural areas and these students are having trouble attending these online classes and many even claim travelling long distances everyday for internet access to be able to sit in the online class.

Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that the government is working on improving this system each day and to ensure that there is internnet connectivity available in these areas so that students don’t have any sort of trouble.

Today Twitter has been trending with the hashtag #SayNoToUniversitiesFees as students are demanding a waiver of one month semester fee since many students claim that they used to pay for their tuition working part time jobs and most of them are now unemployed since the coronavirus lockdown.

Many students say that their parents who were paying the tuition fee have lost their jobs and many businesses have also been closed as a result of the lockdown hence they are having trouble paying the tuition fee.

These students are demanding a waiver in fee saying that government is providing relief to different sectors in the country including many businesses and students deserve to get a relief too under these circumstances hence they are trending the #SayNoToUniversitiesFees hashtag.

The hashtag has been trending in the top five on Twitter Pakistan with over 75,000 tweets from all across the country.
